义乌菜场里的阿拉伯语

浙江省义乌市被誉为世界上最大的小商品市场。许多外国人在城市做生意，相应的，许多当地人也能说流利的外语。

Yiwu City in Zhejiang Province is well known as the largest small commodity market in the world. Many foreigners are doing business there and, as a matter of course, many locals can speak foreign languages fluently, too. 

前阵子，一段义乌货车司机在街头飙英语的短视频走红网络。不少人调侃：义乌“人均”英语四级。不过，您可能不知道，在国际化城市义乌，很多商贩还能说一口流利的阿拉伯语。下面我们就来认识几位。

Not long ago, the short video of a Yiwu truck driver speaking English went viral online. Many said jokingly that every Yiwuese must be qualified in CET-4. What's more, many vendors in Yiwu can speak fluent Arabic. Let’s meet some of them and hear their stories.

这位来自江西的赵建兰，大家都喜欢叫她阿兰。她来义乌卖菜已经有16个年头了，现在菜摊里的五十多种蔬菜她都能用阿拉伯语报出菜名来。

Zhao Jianlan comes from Jiangxi Province. People just call her "Ah Lan". She has been a vegetable vendor for 16 years in the vegetable market of Yiwu. She can tell the Arabic names of about 50 kinds of vegetables.

“土豆阿拉伯语里叫马哒哒，洋葱阿拉伯语里叫巴萨路，西红柿阿拉伯语里叫TUMATO 。”这些菜名，都是她花了不少心思向前来买菜的阿拉伯客人学的。“记的时候方法有很多的，不是脑子一下就能记住的。也是先用中文写下来代替阿拉伯语的字。”

In Arabic, potatoes are called "MA DA DA", onions  "BA SA LU", tomatoes "TUMATO." Ah Lan has made efforts to learn these vegetable names from her Arabic customers. “However, I could not remember all the words which I learned from them at once. I needed to note them down with Chinese, the pronunciation of which is similar to that of the Arabic words.”

蔬菜种类多，为方便外国客户，阿兰还通过微信，进行线上下单，线下送货的方式与客户交易。

There are a variety of vegetables sold at Ah Lan's stall. For the convenience of foreign customers, she also accepts WeChat order placing and offline delivery.

和阿兰一样，今年55岁的老范对摊位上的40多种水产名称，也能用阿拉伯语随口道来。Like Ah Lan, Fan, who is 55 years old, can say the name of more than 40 aquatic products on his stall in Arabic.

42岁的陈飞明从事销售阿拉伯调料已有20多年了，在他的店铺里经营着海内外数千种调味品。

Chen Feiming has been engaged in selling Arabic seasonings for more than 20 years. The store he runs sells thousands of domestic and overseas seasonings.

刚接触阿拉伯语时，陈飞明发现比英语难学很多。为了尽快学会，他就把每种调味品的阿拉伯语发音都用中文进行标注，现在他已经学会了数千种调味品的阿拉伯语名称。

Chen found that Arabic was much more difficult to learn than English. To learn Arabic as quickly as possible, he studied very hard and gradually learned the Arabic names of thousands of seasonings. Now he can even teach Arabic to his kindergarten daughter every day.
